West Hull 26 Beverley Braves 6
Straight from the kick off Beverley put themselves under pressure by knocking the ball on, then from the resulting scrum Wests broke away and scored, the kick was successful and the score was 6-0.For the rest of the first half it was a good defensive performance from the lads and they managed to score a try and only conceded another one to go in at half time 10-6 down.
The second half saw the introduction of Calvin who had to sit out the first half after taking a knock in the pre game warm up, he added some steel to the defence in the middle.
As time went on, Wests gradually took control and were just too fast and strong for the Braves.
This result however is another stride forward, as we have now managed to keep Wests to a score below 30, next game lets see if we can get them below 20!
Well done lads for a good gutsy performance, One down side was an injury to Liam, who looks like he has injured a knee ligament.
Again Ed took the game to Wests and was aided by the other forwards, Simon was a Revelation in the tackle department and Ash (R) never stopped trying. Wests never, in my opinion, scored a good try all game, all the tries they got were long range tries where people backed off and allowed them to run, if the lads could get over this fear of West Hull, and actually tackle the big lads when they run at them from deep we might be able to spring a shock.
Try: Kieran (B) Goal: Ed
Man of the match Ash (R)
